Menu Bar System Monitor

Help

Where is the app?

It lives in the menu bar, not in the Dock. Click the numbers to open the panel; right-click them for Settings and Quit.

I can't see it in the menu bar

On a MacBook with a notch, macOS hides menu bar items that do not fit. Open Settings → Menu Bar and show fewer items, or turn on Compact. Hold ⌘ and drag the item to move it.

Why is "Using the most right now" only showing this app?

Apps from the Mac App Store run in a sandbox, and macOS does not let them read other apps' usage. Click Open Activity Monitor in the panel to see every app.

How do I add the widgets?

Right-click the desktop, choose Edit Widgets, and search for System Monitor. Widgets are part of Pro. They update about every minute while the app is running.

Alerts don't appear

Turn the alert on in Settings → Alerts, then check System Settings → Notifications → Menu Bar System Monitor.

I bought Pro on another Mac

Open Settings → Pro and click Restore Purchase, signed in with the same Apple Account.

Does it slow my Mac down?

No: about 10 MB of memory and 0.1 % CPU with only the menu bar item, and nothing at all while the display sleeps.
